What does it profit?

My friends, I am getting frequent e-mails from people with concerns about the current events as they are unfolding in America and all the unrest in the entire globe every single day.

I completely understand where the thoughts and concerns are coming from and I am grieved as well to watch what is happening. However, we are also called to the reality of facts through the “eyes” of scripture.

“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” Matthew 16:26
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Mark 8:36
“For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?” Luke 9:25
Philippians 4 is a wonderful chapter and Psalm 37 makes it very clear as to how we are to respond to evil; that we are not to fret. The entire chapter is a wonderful outlay of answers for us as we face uncertain days ahead.

We must keep our focus on Jesus.

Thought for the week,

Have a great week,
